2009 Cache Valley Cruise In

Utah's Premier Classic Car Show!

Sponsorship

The Cache Valley Cruise-In is a Hot Rod and Classic Car Show event held annually in Logan, Utah (about 90 miles north of Salt Lake City), and is hosted by the Cache Valley Cruising Association. All types and models of specialty vehicles are invited to attend.

The Cache Valley Cruise-In has been gaining popularity and attendance each year because of the commitment to excellence on part of the CVCA members, the high caliber of participant vehicles we attract, the outstanding giveaway cars that have been offered as grand give away prizes, and the tremendous support of our sponsors. The grand prize giveaway cars are a year long project undertaken by the members of the Cache Valley Cruising Association and sponsored by many businesses, both local and national. We are a non-profit organization and all Cruise-In proceeds fund various club activities, meet Cruise-In production expenses, and the following year’s new project car. No club members receive any compensation for their time and efforts in organizing and promoting the Cruise-In.

The Cache Valley Cruise-In

This three-day annual event is held the first Saturday in July at the Logan/Cache County Fairgrounds (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). It attracts street rods, street machines, motorcycles, custom and restored vehicles from all over the United States.

Day One

Activities start on Thursday with registration at the Baugh Motel conference room followed by a 40-mile Poker Run through scenic Logan Canyon to Bear Lake, with a Dutch Oven chicken dinner at the end of the run. This event has grown to include 250-300 participant cars being involved in the poker run and dinner for about 800 persons. Grand prize for the best poker hand is usually a rebuilt transmission. We are hosting a Sock Hop dance following the Poker Run.

Day Two

Day two (Friday) is focused on participant events. A driving rally that takes participants around Cache Valley is provided with the winner receiving a rebuilt motor, or other substantial prize. There are many other activities including children’s games, driving events, a BBQ (feeding about 600), and live entertainment that evening in the Rodeo Arena, 2007 featured “38 Special” in concert and 2008 featured “Styx” in concert. We hope to continue to bring live entertainment to the Cruise In for future shows.

Day Three

Saturday starts with a chuck wagon breakfast for the participants, feeding about 800. The Show and Shine is where the participants’ vehicles are on display all day, which is the central event of the Cruise-In. The show and shine is heavily attended by the public with upward of 25,000 people attending. At the end of the afternoon, awards are given away and the ticket is drawn for the winner of the giveaway car. (A $6.00 show entrance ticket for age 18 and above is required for a chance to win the car, and winners must be present.) The day ends with thousands of spectators cheering on street rodders on a two-hour Main Street Cruise. Logan City closes down Main Street and only registered show participants are allowed to drive in the Main Street parade during this time.

Cruise-In Management

Members of the Cache Valley Cruising Association (CVCA) donate a great deal of time to provide the annual Cruise-in and project (giveaway) car. Many local and national businesses sponsor provide materials, supplies, and funds. Engines, transmissions, wheels, tires, automotive and other products have been donated and are used in the construction of the giveaway cars and promotion of the Cruise-In.

Each year many of the sponsors recommit for the next year’s Cruise-In, and others request to participate, illustrating the advertising value of the car and Cruise-In is appreciated. All giveaway cars are finished to the point of being a reliable and safe vehicle. Attention to detail is important, as the car must appear and show well to attract show spectators and participants to finance the show, as well as another car for the following year. Many of the project cars have received awards at other shows, demonstrating the quality and popularity of these vehicles.

The Cache Valley Cruising Association consists of about 50 member families with skills and interests related to automotive hobbies. We have 3 elected officials President, Secretary, Treasurer and 7 Board of Directors who oversee the car show event with monthly meetings for the club members as well as monthly meetings for the Board.

The CVCA is a non-profit organization that promotes the sport of Hot Rodding. We have been hosting the annual Cruise-In for over 25 years and have given away over 23 cars during that time.

To promote the Cruise-In we place ads in some national magazines like Street Scene and Cruisin magazine other car oriented publications as our budget will allow. We also advertise in Local newspapers and on the Radio. We attend many of the regional car shows with the giveaway car on display, usually 12-15 different shows, to advertise our show and the sponsors of our show.

including national events, and I.S.C.A. car shows in Salt Lake City, Utah; Boise, Idaho; northern and southern California; and other intermountain areas. Scheduling is arranged as we receive information and dates for events we may be interested in.

We list all sponsors in newspaper ads, posters, signs, event programs, and the CVCA website at www.cachevalleycruisein.com. We put company logos for sponsors of $1000 or more, on the trunk lid of the giveaway car. Many of the past vehicles still retain the lettering for all to see for years to come.

We hope that you and your company will be interested in becoming a sponsor for the three day Cache Valley Cruise-In -- Utah’s Largest and Finest automotive event.

Sponsor donations may be cash and/or merchandise that support the CVCA and/or the Cruise-In. Sponsor discount coupons placed in participant packets are welcome, but do not count toward sponsorship.

Cruise-In program advertisements and logos of $1,000 and corporate level sponsors must be received in a time frame that recognizes publication schedules for the intended media.

The giveaway car can be displayed at sponsors in the Logan area only due to scheduling, time, and distance considerations.
